I was listening to my wife tonight. It doesn't really matter what she was saying - it could have been interpreted as abusive. My initial urge was to fight back, but I remained silent, and said that I was sorry and that she was probably right. She deserved my humble response. I put her in a position that I knew might make her uncomfortable - it doesn't matter that it was something that shouldn't make her uncomfortable. All that matters is that it did and I had to dignify her feelings.
